Janet Roddick, David Donaldson, and Steve Roche have been working collectively for 33 years.

They first started playing music together as part of The Six Volts, and have continued working together in numerous bands, theatre productions and dance shows, and for the two decades as screen composers, under the name Plan 9.

In this P-LAB session, the three members of Plan 9 will talk around the trials, tribulations and triumphs of long-term collaborative work and maintaining a collective spirit.

Multi-award winning artists, Plan 9 have collectively composed music for an impressive array of film, television, theatrical and installation projects since 1995. Included in their 30 feature films are Annie Goldson’s documentary Kim Dotcom: Caught In The Web (2017), Kobi (2017) by Andrea Bosshard, Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement’s What We Do In The Shadows (2014), and the stunning feature documentary Antarctica: A Year On Ice. With David Long they co-wrote music for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 2012) and The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, King Kong and The Lovely Bones.
