As part of events surrounding the release of the Future Jaw-Clap book, Pyramid Club is happy to host Primitive Art Group's Stuart Porter, all the way from Dunedin with The Blithenian Mysteries.

Since returning from the Utah Tabernacle International Festival of Worship where they were awarded second place in the fervently contested improvised hymn category in 2016, The Blithenian Mysteries have bided their time, tightening their embouchures, hardening their fingertips and splitting logs. The group will bring forth an avalanche of love in an eclectic mix of expansive improvisations - by turn reflective and explosive, set in imagined landscapes, rodeo dreams, carparks and more . . .

The Blithenian Mysteries are:

Stuart Porter - Saxophones
Susan Ellis - Trumpet & Piano
Brendon Ryniker - Electric Guitar
Matthew Sanson - Double Bass & micro Korg
Christopher Sargeant - Drums

Opening up is a duo of Greg Malcolm with Chris O’Connor.

Greg Malcolm is one of New Zealand's premier avant garde string-benders. He plays oddly crafted guitar-like instruments of all manners. Chris O’Connor is one of the most wide ranging creative musicians currently working in Aotearoa. For 30+ years Chris has lived and breathed music. As a drummer, he is a prolific and vital contributor to many music scenes within this country.
